Who we are

DragonflyPing gives nail salons in Canada a text-message front desk, an online booking page, a calendar and a website. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, where it is kept, and the choices you have.

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information. Questions or requests: support@dragonflyping.com.

Two kinds of people

  • Salon owners and staff who sign in to the DragonflyPing app.
  • Salon clients: people who book online with, or text, a salon that uses DragonflyPing. For you, the salon decides what is collected and why. We handle your information on the salon's behalf, to provide the salon's service to you.

What we collect about salon clients

  • Your name and mobile number.
  • Your appointments: the service, the time, who does it, and any note you add.
  • The texts you send to the salon and the texts sent to you, and whether each one was delivered.
  • Whether you agreed to receive texts, and when you replied STOP or START.

It comes from you (when you book online or text the salon) or from the salon (its own client list).

How it is used

  • To confirm, remind you of, move or cancel your appointments.
  • To answer your texts. An AI assistant writes replies for the salon and hands anything it cannot answer to the salon's owner.
  • To offer you an earlier spot when one opens up, if you asked to be on the waitlist.
  • Where the law allows, to invite you back after a long gap and to ask for a Google review after a visit.

Reply STOP to any text and the salon stops texting you. We never sell personal information and never use it for advertising.

What we collect about salon owners and staff

  • Your name, email address, your salon and your role there.
  • What you need to sign in: a password (stored only in scrambled form) or your Google sign-in.
  • The owner's mobile number, for alerts when a client needs a person.
  • If you turn on app alerts, the details your browser gives us to deliver them to that device.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your email address, your name and your profile picture with us. That is all we ask Google for.

  • We use your email address only to sign you in and to match you to the login your salon (or we) invited. Google sign-in cannot create a new login on its own.
  • We do not read your Gmail, calendar, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
  • We do not sell or share this information, use it for advertising, or use it for anything but signing you in.
  • It is stored with the rest of your login and deleted when your login is removed. You can also remove DragonflyPing's access at any time from your Google account's security settings.

Who helps us, and where your information is kept

Our database is in Canada. Some of the companies that help us run DragonflyPing are in the United States, so some information is handled there and may be accessed under that country's laws. Each one gets only what its job needs.

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in (Canada).
  • Twilio: sends and receives the text messages (United States).
  • Anthropic: the AI that writes text replies for the salon (United States).
  • Vercel: hosts this website, the booking pages and the app (United States).
  • DigitalOcean: runs our messaging automation and stores our nightly backups (Toronto, Canada).
  • GitHub: runs the nightly backup job (United States).
  • Resend: sends sign-in and invitation emails (United States).
  • Cloudflare: checks that a person, not a robot, is using the booking page.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Apple, Google or Mozilla: deliver app alerts to staff devices that turned them on.

How long we keep it

We keep a salon's information while the salon uses DragonflyPing. When a salon stops using DragonflyPingand asks us to, we delete its information, including its clients' information. Our backups are kept for 30 days, so a deleted record is gone from the backups within 30 days.

How we protect it

  • Information travels over encrypted connections.
  • Each salon can see only its own information. Owners and staff see only their own salon.
  • Nothing private is reachable from a public web address.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep owners and staff signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them. Reply START to receive them again.
  • To see, correct or delete your information, ask the salon, or email our Privacy Officer at support@dragonflyping.comand we will work with the salon to answer you.
  • If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top.
